Ahika | Kawakawa + Horopito
Ahika is a sacred blend of 100% pure Pacific cacao infused with the fiery medicine of kawakawa and horopito — two powerful rongoā of Aotearoa that awaken warmth, courage, and restoration from within.
Crafted from 100% pure Pacific cacao, this 500gm round is designed to support your daily ritual with depth, intention, and integrity. Each batch is stone-ground and slow-crafted to preserve the full spectrum of cacao’s natural oils, flavour, and energetic potency.
Named Ahika — the sacred fire, the fire that keeps home alive — this blend is an invitation to tend to your inner flame.
Kawakawa, known as a plant of courage and fortitude, has long been used within te ao Māori to support healing, circulation, digestion, and emotional restoration. Its heart-shaped leaves remind us to move fearlessly in the present, softening into trust while strengthening connection to self and wairua.
Horopito, one of Aotearoa’s most ancient plants, carries the element of ahi/fire. Growing at the edge of forests for over 65 million years, horopito is revered for its warming, protective, and stimulating nature. Traditionally known as “the Māori painkiller,” horopito has been used to support digestion, circulation, respiratory wellbeing, and discomfort in the body. Its fiery peppery nature brings warmth to stagnant spaces — awakening movement, vitality, and renewal.
Infused with sacred karakia, this cacao carries a grounding yet activating presence — a gentle invitation to return to yourself, your breath, and the rhythm of Papatūānuku. The rich, earthy depth of pure cacao is met with the peppery warmth of kawakawa and the gentle fire of horopito, creating a bold, invigorating cup with an internal warming afterglow — the kind that lingers in the chest, softens the body, and gently stokes the inner fire long after the last sip.
Perfect for daily drinking, ceremony, cold mornings, or sharing within your whānau and community, Ahika allows you to work with cacao as a living practice — one that steadies the mind, nourishes the body, ignites the inner spark, and deepens connection to whenua, wairua, and self.
You will be able to make a minimum 20 cups from this 500gm round.
This is cacao in its most honest form — warming, bold, deeply restorative, and crafted to keep the inner fire burning.

I'd been holding on to this for sooo long, waiting for the "perfect moment" to come so I could make it and just sit, chill and receive... But when you are a Māma, you just have to do those little things for yourself when you can. It's still a "perfect moment" it just looks a little different.

I absolutely loved my Ka kā wā goodies! From the packaging to the distinct flavour which I found totally moorish, I would highly recommend.

I had been drinking coffee since I was about 13 years old. As an adult I have been relying on those little boosts that you get from coffee through the day, but I’ve needed several boosts a day once the last one had worn off. A couple of months ago I went cold turkey and replaced coffee with one cup of Ka kā wā in the morning. That’s it! I didn’t have any withdrawals and have not missed coffee at all. I don’t have those highs and lows throughout the day anymore.
